We now welcome your application for beamtime for the period September 2020 to February 2021. Submission deadline is CET 23:59, Tuesday 17 March 2020.

Please visit the Proposal calls website for submission instructions and proposal types, and the page with available beamlines and techniques for this call.

New this time:

  • The CoSAXS beamline is in early commissioning and accepts proposals for commissioning experiments.
  • FinEstBeAMS and Balder accept proposals for commissioning experiments of new capabilities.
  • It is possible to submit APXPS proposals to HIPPIE and SPECIES at the same time if they don't need beamline specific capabilities.
  • Accepted BAG proposals are valid for four beamtime cycles (two years), subject to reporting by the BAG coordinator every 6 months, details see the website. From now on, MAX IV only accepts BAG proposals to the spring calls with deadline in March. MAX IV & Chalmers Summerschool in synchrotron radiation

The classic MAX IV summer school, organised jointly by MAX IV and Chalmers, will take place 8-16 June 2020. As during the first 32 years of its history, the school aims to give students a broad and at the same time specific overview of methods available to them at MAX IV.

Students from different disciplines will build a network and make the first connections that will lead to future scientific collaborations.

We will offer a full day of hands-on experience with a real beam at MAX IV deadlines, and touch on aspects of data handling as well. Lecturers and the summer school chairs are renown experts and teachers in synchrotron radiation, some of them former summer school students themselves.

The application system open 1 March 2020, the deadline is 1 April 2020.

User Meeting 2020

The MAX IV user meeting 2020 will take place 28-30 September 2020, at Scandic Star in Lund. This time, we will engage with the user community to discuss the next ten years of MAX IV - a road map to developing user communities, science and instrumentation at MAX IV.

All through the next 12 months, we will engage with users and science in Sweden, the Nordic countries and internationally, on how we together can make the best use of the unique capabilities provided by MAX IV - more details coming soon!
