We at Katalysen are very excited about this partnership and our work together with Pepins.
TRACKINSIGHT AND CONSER TAKE LEAD HELPING INVESTMENTS BECOME SUSTAINABLE
We at Katalysen believe in a transformation of the investment world towards sustainability. The two main drivers for this are climate change and technology. Climate change is a risk for humanity, and technology makes the analysis of investments according to sustainability criteria possible.
We believe that in the future, the vast majority of investments will be chosen according to some sustainability measures. Companies that do not value sustainability will have a hard time to survive.
Sustainability is a difficult subject. As an example of this; mining is often regarded as one of the worst sectors regarding environmental, social and governmental best practices. Wind-turbines create green energy but their engines need rare-earths. Therefore, it would be wrong to condemn the mining sector in general terms, it would even make sense to invest in the mining companies with the best sustainability practices. That will create pressure for all such companies to become better. But of course, one can only judge what can be measured, one needs to be able to score and rank companies and governments according to sustainability criteria... ==>

INNOVATION, PERSISTENCE AND A GOOD CAUSE
Our shareholder Philippe Givel is raising money for a charity "Velafrica" by cycling 3500 km along the French border. Philippe is innovative, he has designed a new type of touring with a sophisticated E-bike, optimizing the use of batteries, so that he can cycle a distance of 200-250 km a day, which is about 8 hours. This every day.
His adventure fits well the values of Katalysen, namely persistence and innovation. Philippe is one of the few remaining Renaissance men, having many interests, such as risks, options, innovation, adventure, ski and cycling.
We are deeply impressed by his endeavour.

Katalysen is growing. Our most recent hire is Jakob Qvick, who will take the role as Project Manager. Jakob will cover the new partnerships that Katalysen has in its pipeline and support management in its business development.

KATALYSEN JOINS INVESTIMIZER AS A PARTNER
Katalysen has become a partner of Investimizer, a Chicago-based robo-adviser. Investimizer uses advanced quantitative financial methods and artificial intelligence.Given that robo advisers need to construct and rebalance
the optimal portfolio or a client, we found it surprising, that vast majority of robo-advisers use outdated and theoretically unsound approaches without consideration of their out-of-sample performance. Most of the actual portfolio optimization methodologies give... ==>
Edward Jung, Peter Almberg and Heiner Weber sharing hot topics in a cold Stockholm
INNOVATION AND TALENT WILL POWER FUTURE GEOPOLITICS
Katalysen had the pleasure to spend time in Stockholm with Edward Jung, founder and CEO of Xinova. Xinova is a unique company focussed on the connectivity of intelligent innovation with the ever-shifting market demand. Xinova is headquartered in Seattle with offices in 10 other locations in Asia, Europe, Middle East and Latin America and is offering a global market network in innovation.
Katalysen shares the view of Xinova that innovation and talent will become the main driver of geopolitics. For this reason, it is crucial for businesses and governments to have an intense exchange with such global specialists as Xinova.
Our discussions with Edward covered many hot topics, which was needed, as Stockholm welcomed us with cold winter weather.
ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENTS FOR FAMILY OFFICES
Private investors have always been important for funding of ideas and projects, because they can think a bit more out-of-the-box than institutions which are often bound to many internal rules and predefined boxes.
Every year Campden’s Family Alternative Investment Conference in London brings such private investors, their investment offices and/or family offices together with the aim to foster an exchange of experiences and to learn from each other.
