Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

All of us at SteelTech would like to thank you for your cooperation in 2018, and at the same time we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2019. Instead of Christmas presents, we have chosen to donate money to Giving People, a relief organization that works to root out financial vulnerability and child poverty in Sweden. You can read more about Giving People and our cooperation on our website at Here you can also watch our new movie showing our history over twenty years, click the Youtube icon on the top of our page, or just hit the button below.

Steeltech Service posts its best annual result ever

Steeltech Service is doing very well. Christer Kajsjö, the new Service Manager since February 2018, draws this conclusion following a hectic year, including a major relocation, as year end is fast approaching. We wanted to find out more about the reasons for this.

“Well, there are several reasons to this. This year, we have had many overseas assignments both for new installations and service assignments. For Industrial Kitchens and Cooling Systems, we have also assisted with an increase in new installations. Then, the general sales increase at Steeltech is yet another factor. This has resulted in an increase in assignments for the Service department.”

What else are you doing?

“Currently we are busy with further perfecting the quality in our work routines. And to strengthen our skills, we are working on obtaining authorised service status for more brands.”

“On a personal note and in the role as new service manager, I would also like to mention how much I have enjoyed to meet SteelTech’s contractual customers and received important feedback for continued cooperation. And to all of those whom I have still not had the opportunity to meet, I will endeavour to do so soon,” ends our satisfied Service Manager.

New prewash module reduces water consumption

The RPWM 90° is a new Electrolux prewash module designed as a 90° unit for corner installation. Compared to manual rinsing, the machine reduces water consumption by 75%. Designed for industrial dishwashing systems, the RPWM 90° has been prepared for upstream integration with flight-type dishwashers and conveyors. The prewash module is the result of close cooperation with Electrolux, where Steeltech engineers have developed and built a smart, efficient solution that will be launched in the market in early 2019.

Through the merger, Steeltech Service has also embraced a digital service system, enabling all service engineers to get their work orders dispatched by phone, whilst reporting and invoicing matters are also handled by phone. At the same time, the customer receives instant acknowledgement of completed work, including a detailed breakdown of all issues covered. All in all, this has also meant improved streamlining of service visits.

Well-attended breakfast meeting

In November, Steeltech held a “Before work” breakfast meeting for local entrepreneurs, politicians and officials in Alingsås. The meeting was a result of cooperation with the Alingsås city business unit and the Swedish trade organization Företagarna. Many people acted on this invitation. In total, some 70 people came to enjoy a hearty breakfast and listen to Steeltech’s exciting journey presented by CEO Björn Sjölin and Sales Manager Patrik Strandberg. Following the presentation, the attendees joined a guided tour through the new factory to look closer at the production. Everyone was impressed, both by the solutions and the new premises.

“It was a fantastic audience that listened attentively to our story about Steeltech’s history in the old premises at Lärkvägen and our future plans with the new facilities at Sävelund,” says Patrik Strandberg.

Our work on quality gets a boost

In 2018, we have implemented increasingly structured routines in our work with quality. An inbox for all external customers was launched to better and more quickly offer solutions to customer issues. Everyone in customer support now has access to this mutual mail box to provide faster response. The transition to this approach will cut response times even further, while we at the same time can learn from the statistics of actual support issues.

Currently, we are busy introducing visual control of the issues. Visual control enables us to draw conclusions on the progress of the various issues for improved overall monitoring and progress, which in turn will result in better and faster handling of customer issues.

On a more general level, in the third quarter we underwent an external audit of our ISO 9001 certification with a resultant full approval by the auditors.

Additionally, to further improve our work with quality and shorten lead times, we have taken on a new employee: Dennis Yngve.
