Carl International Film Festival to host Mixed Reality Conference

Mixed Reality is back for its 10th edition! The international screen tourism conference will this year be held September 8-9 2017, during the newly established Carl International Film Festival in the city of Karlskrona, Sweden. 

Mixed Reality Scandinavia is an international conference with the tradition of inviting several of the world’s more significant professionals in the area of fiction tourism and with participants from different business segments, such as the tourism sector, stakeholders and politicians (local and regional), local businesses, destination development, app developers and film commissioners.

The conference will be held during the newly established film festival Carl International Film Festival (CIFF). The festival aims to promote openness and freedom through film. CIFF also strives to be a platform for new film from the Baltic Sea countries. CIFF will be held September 8-13 2017. 

The festival also consists of a film forum with the aim to establish new opportunities for international co-productions, storytelling, financing of film and audiovisual media. The programme will include seminars, networking, presentations and festivities.


Programme Mixed Reality

This year's edition of Mixed Reality will be held between Friday September 8 Noon and Saturday September 9 Noon. The complete programme will be released in the beginning of August. It will include, among other things:

  • Future Film Tourism with VR. 
  • Case studies: Filmbyn, the tourist destination dedicated to the Astrid Lindgren films. Wallander and Ystad, production company Yellow Bird about a global and local success story.
  • Panels, seminars, and much more.
